These gilts are bred and ready to go. They should farrow towards the end of May and beginning of June. There are some Mangalitsa gilts and some that are 75% Mangalitsa and 25% Red Wattle/Large Black. They are currently about a year and a half old and this is the first litter for most of them. The boar is 75% Mangalitsa and 25% Red Wattle/Large Black. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF PREGNANCY. GILTS HAVE BEEN EXPOSED FOR TWO CYCLES, BUT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE GIVEN.
50% deposit is acceptable to hold a sow for no longer than 2 weeks. Please call the farm (231-825-0293) to make arrangements.
Mangalitsa pigs are renowned for their copious, premium quality fat. They also have deep red meat that is full of flavor. They are fabulous homestead pigs as they do well in any weather and can convert ANY food stuff into pork. They typically have 6-8 piglets at a time and have proven to be excellent mothers.
